Terrorism and the application of special criminal laws in handling cases

Author : Dr. LP Singh

Abstract

Laws and regulations like Law Number 5 of 2018 provide a solid legal foundation, but the research finds that there are still problems with effective cooperation between intelligence agencies and law enforcement when it comes to execution. By providing the scholarly groundwork to back up required regulatory modifications or adjustments, this study's results also contribute to the growth of Indonesian law and public policy. In order to build a more robust legal system and provide society with more comprehensive protection, the findings of this research may assist policymakers in developing more responsive and adaptable ways to cope with the terrorist threat. Research on the causes of terrorism, its effects on the economy, the efficacy of counterterrorism efforts, the patterns of terrorist attacks, and the connection between liberal democracies and terrorism are all part of this category. Differentiating between domestic and international terrorism has been a focal point of recent field advancements.
