Noise disturbances in urban rented apartments have become a significant issue, impacting tenants’ comfort, productivity, and well-being. With rental agreements often restricting structural modifications, renters face challenges in implementing permanent soundproofing solutions. This research focuses on exploring budget-friendly and renter-friendly soundproofing techniques that can be easily implemented without violating lease terms or damaging property.

The study examines various affordable methods, including the use of thick curtains, rugs, and weather stripping, to address common noise problems such as gaps around doors and windows. Temporary solutions like acoustic foam panels, soundproof blankets, and draft stoppers are analyzed for their effectiveness in reducing sound transmission. Additionally, creative furniture arrangements, such as placing bookshelves or upholstered furniture against shared walls, are evaluated as practical approaches to minimize noise disturbances.

To understand tenant needs, a survey collects data on renters' experiences with noise issues, their current soundproofing efforts, and their openness to adopting low-cost, non-invasive solutions. Insights from case studies, research papers, and stakeholder feedback further enhance the study’s findings, offering a comprehensive view of soundproofing challenges and solutions.

This research aims to provide practical guidance on achieving effective noise control while maintaining aesthetics and functionality. By focusing on removable options like acoustic foam panels, weather stripping, and other renter-friendly techniques, the study addresses the need for budget-friendly soundproofing solutions that deliver temporary noise reduction tailored to the unique constraints of urban apartment living.
