Abstract
This study explores how textiles enhance comfort and functionality in residential interiors, focusing on cultural, acoustic, and sensory elements. It delves into natural and vernacular fabrics like cotton, wool, handwoven textiles, ikat, and khadi, analyzing their application in creating cohesive, authentic spaces. By reviewing existing literature and conducting case studies, the research explores how these elements influence sensory experiences and contribute to the atmosphere of residential spaces. Cultural textiles enrich interiors with heritage, while acoustic fabrics enhance sound quality for quieter living. Tactile aesthetics emphasize sensory engagement, combining texture and visual appeal. Visual harmony ensures a balanced design by integrating colors and patterns, while sensory comfort addresses physical and emotional well-being. The study demonstrates that thoughtful textile choices can significantly enrich the home environment, aligning practical needs with aesthetic and cultural values.
